SALKANTAY 4D-3N

DESCIPTION

Location: The road to Salkantay, which is Quechua term meaning “wild mountain” also known as the “New Inca Trail”, is located north of the city of Cusco. This hike reaches a height of 4,600 meters above sea level at its highest point.
Climate: In this trekk you can see the climates that Peru has, very sunny during the day, but cold at night. Arriving to a jungle eyebrow area. The temperature falls below 0 ° C at night during the months of June to September. In the season from December to March it is very rainy.
Landscapes: Geography changes dramatically from one day to the next. In the first days you walk through mountain landscapes with snowy on each side. Salkantay stands out with a height of 6,264 meters above sea level. In the following days, Andean forests are crossed to reach more tropical areas where plantations of coffee, banana and other fruits abound.

Day 1 ° CUSCO / MOLLEPATA / SORAYPAMPA. (D) (A) (C)

Very early will be the picking of the passengers of their respective hotels between 4:30 a.m. at 5:00 a.m. we leave Cusco, passing by the towns of Izcuchaca and Limatambo and after 3:00 hours of travel from Cusco we arrive at Mollepata (2800 m.s.n.m).
After a light breakfast we started our walk at 9:30 a.m. approx. until the sector called Silcakancha where lunch awaits us.
We continue the route between valleys, mountains and watching snowfalls like the Humantay (5217 m .s.n.m) and the a Salkantay (6264 m .s.n.m). We continue between green and beautiful landscapes until Tucarhuay known as Soraypampa (3700m) place where we will spend the first night the walk the first day is 6:00 hours approx. then we will have a nice dinner and rest in the tents.

Day 2° SORAYPAMPA // CHALLWAY / COLPAPAMPA (D) (A) (C)

After breakfast.
We start the trek of the day, this will be a day full of adventures because it will be the day that we will cross the so-called Pampa del Salkantay, until reaching the highest point the

Salkantay (4600 m.s.n.m) and Umantay i Huayanay imposing snow-capped mountains from where we can appreciate all the majesty of the area.
After lunch we continue the route to Huayrac where we will have indescribable views of the place to continue until the second camp in Andenes or also known as Challway. 3300 m.s.n.m. the hike this day is about 9:00 am. Then we will have our dinner and spend the night.

Day 3 ° CHALLWAY / WINAYPOCO / BEACH / HOT WATER (D) (A) (C)

Breakfast.
This day will be unforgettable because we will see how nature totally changes because we will enter a jungle area, we will go from snowy mountains to places interandinos with a variety of flora and fauna of this area, we will pass very close to the Andean Community Arranyanniyoc where we will begin to descend towards the eyebrow of Selva, crossing cloudy forests and we will see valleys of small formations of hot springs that follow the course of the Santa Teresa River for the warm and humid of this zone has formed a micro climate that they knew to take advantage to the maximum the Orchids that by their colors and variety have been cataloged by the experts as the most beautiful in the world.
We will also have the pleasant experience of meeting some families who live in this area
Finally we will arrive at the Camp in the area called La Playa.
From where we will in a transport to the place of hydroelectric nomination, and we will arrive at the average 2 in the afternoon. We will have lunch and from there we will walk to the town of hot waters for 3 hours where we will have lacena and then we will rest.

Day 4 ° MACHUPICCHU. (D)

We will have breakfast very early and then climb to the Sanctuary of Machupicchu, where we will begin our tour for 2:00 hours of guiding and then we will have time to take photos or go around the citadel. The return schedule by train is to the town of Ollantaytambo by 1:30 hrs. Then we will come by tourist bus to the city of Cusco in approximately. 1:30 a.m.
